The Rush is a literary magazine edited by the graduate students at Mount Saint Mary's University in Los Angeles. We're looking for high-energy pieces that reflect the rush of life. We're delighted to be able to pay writers.
Please observe our updated genre guidelines when submitting work:
- Fiction: 1500 words max
- Nonfiction: 1500 words max
- Poetry: 2 poems per submission
We respond to all submissions and aim to respond within ninety days. Please feel free to query us if, after that time, you have not received a response.
We encourage and welcome simultaneous submissions; please let us know by adding a note to your submission if your work has been accepted elsewhere. If you have sent multiple pieces in one submission, there is no need to withdraw your work if pieces remain for our consideration.
No submissions depicting graphic, gratuitous sex or violence, please.
Please title each image file.
Include a one-paragraph artist's statement in cover letter.
