Poetry

We favor poems rooted in formal structure.

· Sonnet

· Villanelle

· Pastoral Ode

· Elegy

· Free Verse

  • Submit up to six poems (maximum six pages total).
  • All poems must be unpublished.

  

Micro/Flash Fiction & Nonfiction

  • From 200-1000 words.

· Unpublished work only.

  

Photo Poetry & Narrative

· A poem or short narrative with a photo, where text and image evoke or resist each other.

  • Include one photo with photographer credit (name and photo title).
  • Text and image must be submitted in one file.

  

Video Poetry & Narrative

· Pieces where literary forms combine with moving images to create new meaning.

  • Collaborations between video artists and writers are welcome.
  • Videos created by poets from their own writing.
  • Adaptations/ekphrastic works based on pre-existing poems, microfictions, or vignettes 
    • Any adapted piece must be in the public domain or used with written permission from the author.

· Submit via Vimeo link (preferred).

  • You may also upload .png, .jpg, .mp4, or .m4v files.
  • Include a short bio for all contributing artists (video and text).

  

Photography

· Original, open theme photographs (up to 6). No AI.

  

Photo Stories

  • Up to 6 photos telling a story
  • Include a 1–2 page document with the project title and a brief description of the story or concept.
  • Submit all photos in one .doc, .docx, or .pdf file (low resolution for submission).
  • Upon acceptance, we will request high-resolution images (300 dpi, .jpg, 1650 px wide minimum).

  

Formatting for All Written Work

  • Times New Roman, 12 pt, with 1-inch margins
  • Numbered pages
  • Include a cover letter with your name, phone number, location, and email
  • Include a brief biographical note

  

Additional Information

  • We aim to respond within 30 days. If you haven’t heard back, feel free to follow up.
  • Simultaneous submissions are welcome. If a piece is accepted elsewhere, please note it in Submittable. 
    • If you submitted multiple pieces, you may withdraw only the accepted piece(s).
  • We do not accept previously published work.
  • We do not accept AI-generated images or photography.
  • Authors retain full rights. We request non-exclusive North American Serial Rights (print and digital).
  • No payment is offered at this time.
